If you’re putting on an event or running a group at the shul, this guide will give you some important advice and guidance on how to do it.

planning an event at shul2014

This year we are once again supporting a range of charities, beginning at home with our own synagogue community, where we need funds for many activities, ranging from repairs to the building to supporting welfare and youth activities. We are also supporting Tribe, the United Synagogue’s own youth division, which contributes significantly to youth activities in Muswell Hill. Our external  charities are the UJIA’s ‘Children at Risk’ project, focused on impoverished areas of the Galil, and Tzedek’s innovative farming project in West Bengal, India, which aims to ameliorate extreme poverty amongst women in the area. You can read about these two projects by following the link to the material from the UJIA and Tzedek. The UJIA has also sent us a leaflet on their project, which you can read by clicking on the link below.
As usual we will be making an appeal in shul on Kol Nidre and hope you will commit yourself to giving generously then.  You will also have received a copy of the Pledge Card with your magazine so please feel free to make your donation before Yom Kippur by sending this to the Shul Office with your payment, by calling the Office with your credit/debit card details or for the Shul’s bank account details if you wish to donate online.
