Muswell Hill Community Cares
Careline 020 8444 5931
The Muswell Hill Community Cares Committee exists to support those members who may need a bit of extra help, such as shopping or visits if they are housebound. Volunteers from the community have been offering this service for a number of years and this is now being expanded.
We have a dedicated, confidential Careline that is monitored and the calls responded to by the Community Care Committee members. This Careline exists for all members of the Muswell Hill shul community regardless of age and may be the first port of call in dealing with a family or personal problem.
The Welfare Committee also phone all the older members of the community before Rosh Hashanah and Pesach. We organise the delivery of honey cakes to older members of the community at Rosh Hashanah in partnership with the US Central Community Cares team. If you or someone you know needs help at Pesach to buy food we can organise that alongside being able to subsidise places at the communal Seder - again in partnership with the US.
Reacting to the needs of our young community we are soon to launch a support service for those members who are experiencing fertility problems. Depending on preference this may be a group or telephone support. We also have plans to launch a bereavement support service later in the year.
If you would like to talk to someone on the Care team or would like to volunteer then please leave a message on the Careline phone - 020 8444 5931.
