THE WHISKY CLUB

The Whisky Club meets on a midweek evening during alternate months. A member volunteers to host the event and usually provides four single malts and some nibbles. However there is no obligation ever to host an evening.

The evening is very informal. We sit around, chat, have a good laugh and pretend that we know what we’re talking about. We also taste the whiskies! (In measured and very abstemious amounts).

New members are always welcome. There is no commitment, no joining fee and no end-of-term exam!

Apart from the host, we each pay £10 per evening to a charity of our choice. The money is collected and spirited away by our very able and experienced treasurer, Michael Rose, who has even been known to be in charge of the Shul finances so we can rest assured that our money is in good glasses!

Our current charity is to provide a Kiddush for the community. By a strange coincidence, so was the previous one!

The next meeting, on 15 March 2012, will be hosted by Simon Cowan but will take place at the home of Ian Binder, starting at 8 p.m. Please arrive early as numbers are strictly limited!

Another fascinating and entertaining evening to look forward to!
