Welcome back!

I do hope you had a great Holiday, wherever you traveled to, and even if you stayed here in London. We all had a wonderful holiday, driving to Poland as a family to see Elisheva’s parents and staying in Belgium with Tribe for Shabbat, Berlin, Prague and Strasbourg as well. An amazing and enriching holiday!

As we are coming up to a Jewish leap year in 5774, Rosh Hashana will be very early, in fact it starts next Wednesday night. In fact the Selichot prayers will start this Sunday morning in our Shul – a momentous day for the anglo Jewish community, as Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis will be installed as our next Chief Rabbi. We wish him much mazal and that he will succeed and carrying on the immense work of his predecessor. We also wish Rabbi Sacks mazal in his future work and salute the amazing Chief Rabbi he was.

We are also coming soon to the season of SEUDAH SHLISHIT. Last year we were blessed with many new sponsors of Seudah Shlishit, the traditional third meal of Shabbat. The idea is that an individual, or family or group of individuals sponsor Seudah Shlishit itself (I am attaching the buying food guidelines) and that someone gives a 5 minute talk about the Torah portion or another Jewish topic close to their heart. It could be about a family story, trip or an interesting idea. We have had some really interesting presentations that enrich our Shabbat experience in Muswell Hill.

So if you would like to sponsor a Seudah, ">email me on  and I will book you in. I am attaching the list of sidrot, dates and times of Mincha on each Shabbat so you can plan ahead. If you want to sponsor a Seudah because of a yahrtzheit or special occasion, do email me soon so you will not be disappointed.
