Women’s Book Group
The Women’s Book Group is for women of all ages who love to share their thoughts on a good read. We meet about every 6 weeks, usually on a Sunday evening in each others homes. Our reading list is very varied, from classics to the latest prize winners, short stories to autobiographies.
We take it in turns to choose our titles so that all tastes are catered for, but we do try to include some recommended books with a Jewish or Israeli theme.
Books we’ve read recently have included:
A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler
How To Be Both by Ali Smith
A god in Ruins by Kate Atkinson
The Noise of Time by Julian Barnes
The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters
To The End of The Land by David Grossman
Days Without End by Sebastian Barry
Our discussions are lively, fun and very informal, and of course there’s always coffee and cake and a bit of socialising to round things off!
New members are very welcome, so for details of the next meeting, please contact Nikki Epstein.
