Our next speaker will be Amos Oz’s translator, Nicholas de Lange, Emeritus Professor of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at Cambridge.
Nicholas has been an extraordinarily productive writer and researcher over the years. Co-editor of the Penguin History of Judaism, OUP’s Judaism, and Phaidon’s Atlas of the Jewish World, he has specialised in medieval Jewish scholarship, Greek texts in the Cairo Genizah, and much else.
But it is for his many translations of Amos Oz’s novels that he is probably best known.
