Whisky Club
Whisky is very central to life at Muswell Hill shul.
The whisky club meets every two months and is hosted by one or two members in their home. They provide four bottles of single malt whisky and some nosh. Members pay £10 contribution for the evening which runs from 20.00 to 22.00.
The evening is very informal. We sit around, chat, have a good laugh and pretend that we know what we’re talking about. We also taste the whiskies! (In measured and very abstemious amounts). The proceeds are shared equally with the host, to offset the costs, and the club funds.
Once we have enough money collected we host an annual Shabbat Whisky club kiddush. We also make donations to charity from time to time.
One of the meetings is the ANNUAL BBQ held in the summer and hosted by one of our members on his allotment.
New members are welcome. There is no commitment, no joining fee and no end-of-term exam!
