Muswell Hill members at JDov

Two of our members were amongst the 5 speakers at the first Jdov event at Jw3.  Jdov asks each speaker to talk for 10-12 minutes on a subject close to their heart and to share their Dreams, Observations and Visions (DOV). Judith Vandervelde gave a fascinating talk about her work leading workshops for young Muslim students about the Holocaust and the fact that she encourages more interaction between Jews and Muslims before our separate bubbles “become walls”. Clive Lawton spoke in his usual entertaining style on the subject of “Growing Grown up Jews”, how so often we infantalise our Judaism and just do it “for our kids” Maureen Kendlar also spoke about the situation of women in Orthodox Jewry and the fact that 52 percent of the Jewish community are not being heard as equals.  All the talks will be online here in a few weeks.
